I am adding a new book to my shelf. This was a hit with my family. I read this one in the car to them. We could not put it down. This is a historical fiction book and extremely informative -- a real "eye opener." Will history repeat itself?
Enjoy! It's worth every penny.
New additions to the quest for good literature are the following books recently read by me.
Since homeschooling consumes most of my time, I was naturally drawn to this book. Teri Maxwell has written a terrific book, Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit. I am in my ninth year of homeschooling. Upon reading the first page I was able to completely relate to her situation. She uses lots of good scripture verses to help combat weaknesses. It is not difficult to read: it is something you can manage in a weekend. She even discusses tips on how the Lord helped her through depression. It also comes with a helpful study guide. I have incorporated many of the verses in both books to help me and my children. It is well written, well organized, and well worth my time. Check it out.
God's Mighty Hand by Little Bear Wheeler is longer but definitely sensational. This is a "must read" book. Everyone in my family enjoyed it. With eighty chapters and each one filled with incredible events and people, I am so glad we purchased it.
Jim Hodge's audio books is how I first found out about this fabulous find. Half way through his audio, I had to purchase the book. Some people sell the book for $99, but we were able to acquire it for $5. Most of the stories in it would make terrific sermon illustrations. Thank you Little Bear Wheeler for going through all the time, energy and research to prepare this book. I loved it.
I Must Tell, an autobiography of James A. Stewart, is also another interesting short book. Any young man interested in sports, sports, sports would certainly be able to related to young James. I enjoyed it because of the godly praying mother he had. I loved seeing how God worked in his life time and time again. Reading a story like this will certainly give unbelievers something to think about. God is still working in hearts today. It was a tremendous encouragement to me. I am making my son read it.
