We have been discussing with our children for weeks the power of prayer. On Monday night during Bible Time, our son decided to "ask" the Lord for what he wanted. He prayed that the Lord would give him a "new Husqvarna lawn mower" and a "new Husqvarna weed wacker." (The proper name is Husqvarna gas trimmer.) He cuts lawns for college money and has researched what he likes best. Therefore, he decided he would ask God for his wish list.
The very next morning after he prayed for these items out loud with all of us, his weed wacker trigger button broke. He has a spare weed wacker, but it is also in need of repair. To be completely honest, he has been diligent in reminding us to take it to the repair shop, but we have not taken it to the repair shop. Well, we had to take one broken weed wacker to the repair man yesterday.
But what about his customers?
Guess what my son had to do?
Did you ever hear of Lowes?
Dad and Andrew went to Lowes to purchase a new Husqvarna gas trimmer funded by Andrew's college fund. We all laughed. He came home and said out loud to God, "Could you please wait a while on the new lawn mower?" He has changed his prayer to a "new, free, Husqvarna lawn mower." I'll let you know when it is answered. I'm sure you'll laugh with delight when that story is told.
By the way, he absolutely loves his new toy. He says it works great.
