Without Monty who knows how the day would have turned out. We all love Monty.
|Do you see where Monty's tongue is?|
|Me and My Man|
We went to Longwood Gardens spur of the moment and had a ball. The children loved the lights, organ concert, and Christmas decorations. A kind women volunteered to take a photo of all of us. Going at night is a totally different effect. Next year come with us.

Our vacation during Thanksgiving was a thrill. The first day we went to Jamestown, VA. It is the first permanent English settlement in North America established in 1607. The children loved the ships, canoe making, grinding down corn, rifle firing and how the indians made feathers. What a great day!
The second day through the end of the week we went to Colonial Williamsburg. It was packed with lots of cool things to see and do. Frank was part of a colonial court proceeding. He couldn't wipe the grin off his face.
We went on a special tour of the behind the scenes of Colonial Williamsburg. We learned about the animals that were farmed during that time and saw all the carriages and where the interpreters got dressed.
Look at these naughty children. Who's the mother of these rebels?
We were able to stop and talk to all kinds of interpreters. The shoemaker was not a cobbler. And the wig maker shop was a favorite for the girls.
The weaver shop was especially interesting. The girls carded the cotton. Then this lady made their carded cotton into string, cut the string and showed them how easy it is to make two-ply strand of string. They each took home a keepsake -- a cotton seed, and their homemade string of cotton.
Everything was so much fun. From morning to evening we spent each day with friends learning about our past. Not a minute was wasted. It was a very memorable time, and worth going back again. "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!"
The fife and drum on the last evening was very exciting. Let's go back right now!
