Great Gift Idea

Today we are busy trying to find the best gift ideas for our loved ones and friends. Have you considered that someone is trying to give you the best gift ever?

God's Word tells us that we are all needy. We need the marvelous free gift that was purchased for us -- the gift of a Savior. John 6:23 states, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Sin is anything we do against God's Word, the Bible. (I John 3:4) That's the bad news, but the GOOD NEWS is John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." You are precious to God. He made you. He loves you. He died for you, and He is risen for you. He paid the price for your sin and mine.

Friend, this precious gift is yours FREE, if you call upon Christ (confess and forsake your sin), he will be faithful and just to forgive you of ALL unrighteousness. Romans 10: 13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

In June Frank decided to buy me a new laptop computer. He wanted me to have it so I could use it in homeschooling. We started school the first week in August as usual. Two weeks into the school year I discovered someone unintentionally sat on my laptop and cracked the screen. Oh horrors! Of course I was disturbed by this, but not to worry -- when we purchased the computer we bought insurance. We were told "if you drop the laptop and it breaks, you will be covered for any damage."

Through a series of phone calls, I found out we bought the wrong insurance. We were not covered for accidents. The only thing to do was pay for the new screen. I couldn't bear the thought. I began to pray to the Lord knowing all things work together for good to them that love God. I decided against all advice to go to the store, Staples, and appeal to their good name.

In an effort to teach my child through this situation, I decided to take her with me to Staples. We prayed before we entered the store knowing they didn't owe us anything. I met a manager who said to me after I explained the story, "I want to work with you." He was able to give me the same computer I purchased along with a new printer and some office supplies for the cost of a new two-year insurance plan. If I never use the two-year insurance plan, I will get all the money back in the form of a Staples card. It was a good deal.
